About Our Practice

Augusta Obstetrics & Gynecology Specialists is an esteemed group of doctors well-rooted in the Augusta community and well-respected for their expertise in the field of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our group practice consists of eight physicians, one Nurse Practitioner and approximately 27 employees. AOGS was founded in 2002 from a merger of two small practices. The practice was founded by Drs. Bipin Chudgar, Rodman Lemon, Cristian Thomae and Indrani Bongu and has since grown with the addition of Drs. Rafael Jordan, Kathryn Knodel, Radhika Subramanian, and Russell Swanger. Our Nurse Practitioner, Maria Thomae, rounds out our experienced team of medical providers who together deliver quality medical care and treatment to patients throughout the greater Augusta area.

Our aim is to take advantage of the latest advances in both medical procedures and equipment while treating our patients with the respect, compassion and dignity they deserve. We offer full gynecological services including yearly exams, family planning, obstetrics and major surgery. Our obstetrical care includes office and hospital visits, delivery and postpartum care. We also provide other services including urogynecology, ultrasound and fertility counseling.
